Privacy Policy

1. Information we collect

• Account details: your name, email address and password (stored securely, never in plain text). If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive the basic profile details they share.
• Your content: the documents, audio and other files you upload, the text we extract from them, and what's generated from them (summaries, flashcards, quizzes, chat messages).
• Study activity: your quiz answers and scores, bookmarks, feedback and ratings you give us, and how much of your plan's limits you've used.
• Payments: your subscription and transaction records (plan, amount, reference). Card details are handled by our payment partner, not stored by us.
• Referrals: your referral code, who you referred, and commission and payout details if you join the referral program.
• Device and technical information: the platform you use (web, Android or iOS), when you last signed in, and, if you allow notifications, a device token so we can send them.
• Things you tell us: for example, how you heard about Mastrie AI, or messages you send to support.

2. How we use your information

• To provide Mastrie AI: create your account, process your uploads and generate study material.
• To run subscriptions and the referral program, including taking payments and paying commission.
• To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.
• To contact you about your account, such as verification codes and password resets, and, if you allow it, notifications.
• To understand how the product is used so we can improve it.

3. AI processing

To create summaries, questions and answers, we send the relevant parts of your uploaded content to an AI provider (currently OpenAI). We send only what's needed for the task you asked for. We use these providers to deliver the service to you, not to sell your content.

4. Who we share information with

We don't sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run Mastrie AI, and only as needed for that purpose:

• AI processing (OpenAI);
• payment processing (Paystack);
• email delivery for verification and password-reset codes (Resend);
• sign-in and push notifications (Google/Firebase and Apple);
• hosting and infrastructure providers.
• We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of our users and the service.

5. How long we keep it

We keep your information while your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we'll delete or anonymize your personal information, except what we must keep for legal, tax or fraud-prevention reasons, such as payment records.

6. Your choices and rights

• You can access and update your name in the app.
• You can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, or delete your account by emailing mastrieai@gmail.com.
• You can turn off notifications in your device settings.
• You can delete individual uploads from your library where the app offers it.

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections and hashed passwords. No online service is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.

8. Children

Mastrie AI isn't aimed at young children. If you're under the age of majority where you live, please use it only with a parent or guardian's permission. If you believe a child has given us personal information without that, contact us and we'll remove it.

9. Where your information is processed

Some of our service providers are based outside Nigeria, so your information may be processed in other countries. We use providers that apply appropriate safeguards.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Mastrie AI changes. We'll update the date at the top and, for significant changes, tell you in the app or by email.
