Terms of Use

1. What Mastrie AI does

Mastrie AI lets you upload study material and turns it into summaries, flashcards, practice questions and answers from an AI study assistant, so you can learn it more effectively.

2. Your account

• You need an account to use Mastrie AI, and you must give us accurate information when you sign up.
• You must be old enough to form a binding contract where you live, or have a parent or guardian's permission.
• You're responsible for keeping your login details safe and for what happens under your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else is using it.

3. Your content

You keep ownership of the documents, audio and other material you upload ("your content"). You give us permission to store it, process it and send it to our AI providers solely so we can provide the service to you, for example to extract text, build summaries and generate questions.

You promise that you have the right to upload your content and that doing so doesn't break anyone else's rights or the law.

4. AI-generated content

Summaries, flashcards, questions, explanations and chat answers are generated by AI. They can be incomplete or wrong. Treat them as a study aid, check them against your original material, and don't rely on them as professional, legal, medical or financial advice.

5. Acceptable use

When using Mastrie AI, you agree not to:

• upload content that is illegal, infringes someone's copyright or other rights, or that you don't have permission to use;
• upload malware or try to disrupt, probe or break into our systems;
• scrape, copy or resell the service or its outputs at scale, or try to reverse-engineer it;
• share your account with others or use someone else's account;
• abuse the referral program, for example through fake accounts or self-referrals.

6. Plans, payments and limits

• Mastrie AI has a Free plan and paid plans. Each plan has limits, such as how many documents you can upload and how many summaries, flashcards and quizzes you can generate. The limits shown on our Plans section apply.
• Paid plans are charged in Nigerian naira (NGN) through our payment partner. We don't store your full card details.
• Paid plans renew as described when you subscribe. You can cancel at any time, and you keep access until the end of the period you've paid for.
• We may change plan prices or limits. We'll give notice of changes that affect an active subscription before they apply to you.

7. Referral program

If you take part in our referral program, you may earn commission when people you refer subscribe to a paid plan. Commission rules, minimum withdrawal amounts and payout details are shown in the app. We may withhold or reverse commission we reasonably believe came from fraud, abuse or breach of these Terms.

8. Suspension and ending your account

You can stop using Mastrie AI at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms, put the service or other users at risk, or if we're required to by law.

9. Our service, as is

We work hard to keep Mastrie AI available and accurate, but we provide it "as is" and "as available", without promises that it will always be uninterrupted, error-free or suitable for your particular needs. Nothing in these Terms excludes any rights you have under law that can't be excluded.

10. Limit of liability

To the extent the law allows, Mastrie AI isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss that comes from relying on AI-generated content, for example a result in an exam. Our total liability to you for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make a significant change, we'll tell you in the app or by email. Continuing to use Mastrie AI after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and disputes will be handled by the courts there, unless the law where you live gives you other rights.
